The new opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill has worked wonders till now in the series. Shubman Gill scored 107 runs in two matches at an average of 53.50. In the first ODI, he managed a 100-run opening partnership with Shikhar Dhawan as India put up 308 runs on the board.

But, India might look to test another opening option, Ruturaj Gaikwad in the next match. Gaikwad is still to make his debut in ODIs and thus, it could be an opportunity for him. However, till now, he failed to cement his place in T20Is by not scoring consistently. In 9 T20I matches, he has scored only 135 runs at an average of 16.87.
