The T20I format is known for young and energetic players. But, there are some veteran Indian players who have played this format even after becoming 37 years old. They have shown their potential after crossing that age mark also.
Here are three players who have represented India in T20Is after 37 years of age
Dinesh Karthik
This veteran wicketkeeper was part of India’s 2007 20-20 World Cup winning campaign. Now, ahead of the 2022 20-20 World Cup, Dinesh Karthik is going to play again in Australia. However, after crossing the 37-year age mark, he has played 21 matches so far. In those matches, he has scored 210 runs in 17 innings, at a strike rate of 137.25.
Meanwhile, he smashed his maiden T20I fifty within these matches only. He scored 55 runs off 27 balls against South Africa in the fourth T20I in Rajkot. The match took place on 17 June 2022. He scored those runs at a strike rate of 203.70. Eventually, India won the match by 82 runs as Karthik won the player of the match award.
