Last year, in the first edition of the World Test Championship, India managed to play the final against New Zealand under the captaincy of Virat. However, India lost the match but, India’s journey throughout the competition was exceptional. But, in this year’s edition, India is on the verge of losing the chance of getting into the final.

After losing the fifth Test match against England, India is currently sitting in the fifth position with 52.08 percentile. Both South Africa and Australia are in the top two positions with 71.43% and 70% respectively. India is still to play six Test matches (two away matches against Bangladesh, four against Australia at home) within the final deadline of this year’s competition. However, seeing the current situation, India will find it tough to qualify for the final even if they manage to win all these remaining matches.
