Ahead of the Indian T20 League 2022, the Lucknow franchise secured the services of this pacer for Rs. 10 crore. For this new franchise, Avesh Khan played 13 matches where he grabbed 18 wickets. He also got a call-up to the Indian team after having such a wonderful season in that tournament.
After that, he represented India in many T20I series. Avesh also got a chance in the recently concluded Asia Cup. But, he failed miserably by taking only two wickets in two matches. He bowled six overs in that tournament and conceded 72 runs. Therefore, selectors completely ignored him while selecting the final squad for the 20-20 World Cup.
