This 27-year-old weightlifter from Manipur impressed everyone when Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Women’s 49 kg category. In her career so far, she has won the World Championships and many medals at the Commonwealth Games. She is the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and thus, she will look to add more medals to her tally this year. Mirabai Chanu is going to participate in the 49kg division of women.

She recently spoke to Hindustan Times regarding her preparation and said: “The training has been the same as before. Post-Olympics, I have mainly been paying attention to my technique only. Since returning I have mainly focused on my snatch, which is my weakness. So I have done a lot of work on that. The technique should be good then I can put in better performances. So there hasn’t been much change in my training, I have mainly been focussing on my technique,”
