Watch: Journalist claims increase in India players’ income after 20-20 World Cup 2016 knockouts

Since 2014, India Cricket Team has been missing out on winning World Championships. In the last eight years, they played three 20-20 World Cups, two ODI World Cups, and a Champions Trophy. They played the final in the 2014 20-20 World Cup and 2017 CT. On the other hand, they played the semis in the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cups, and the 2022 20-20 World Cups. Last year, they failed to qualify for the semis.
Before every tournament, they have been touted as one of the favorites. On the other hand, the fans have also hoped for them to lift the title. However, the Men In Blue have faltered in the knockout games more often than not. Meanwhile, a journalist decided to decode India’s failures in World Events in a different way. In a video that is going viral, he made massive claims on the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
He claimed that after losing the 2016 and 2019 events, Kohli and Sharma went on to start their gym franchises. The journalist added that the players’ bank balances got increased after the 2019 event.

Meanwhile, after the semifinal loss in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022, the Indian Cricket Board will make some changes. As reported, the team will have different captains in ODI and T20I teams
“It’s early to confirm this but yes we are mulling if appointing separate captains for ODI & T20 Squads is the right way. This will help in taking away the load from one person.
“We need fresh approach for T20’s and at the same time consistency in wake of ODI World CUP in India in 2023. The plan can come into play starting January. We will meet and take final calls.”, informed a top Indian Cricket Board official to InsideSport.
