‘Kar dikhaya Paltan valo ne’- Fans react as Puneri Paltan win their maiden title in PKL history
Today was the day the Pro Kabaddi League(PKL) came to an end with the final taking place today. This was the most awaited final between the Puneri Paltan and the Haryana Steelers. The Puneri Paltan were the favourites to win after having one of their iconic seasons this year. The Haryana Steelers had to scrape through to the finals, but they still showed great heart during the whole season. It was time for both these teams to finally get their hands on their first-ever trophy.
The game was neck and neck between the two sides. Both teams were in the game in the first half. However, in the last few minutes of the game, it was the Puneri Paltan who took the victory 28-25. They finished their story after losing the finals last year. Everything was going well for them in this tournament right from topping the table in the league stage and winning their maiden title. The Haryana Steelers put up a great fight, but eventually fell short in the last few moments by just three points. Today was the day the Paltan will finally celebrate.
Pankaj Mohite the unsung hero
This was the day Pankaj Mohite will remember for years. The raider was one of the best performers for the Paltan this season. Even today he had made all his raids count. Mohite was the one who made the difference in the points for his team. This was the day he and his raid partner Mohit Goyat came to the party. This was a young team led by Aslam Inamdar and his two prodigies this season have exceeded everyone’s expectations. After 9 years of struggle, the day has finally come when the trophy will go into the Paltan’s cabinet.
The Puneri Paltan will be over the moon this year with this performance. They have ticked every box in the book whether it is raiding or defending. This was perhaps the best season they have ever had in PKL history. The Haryana Steelers still put up a fight, but it seems like nothing could stop the Paltan to finally get their hands on that title. It is a proud moment for Aslam and his team and this will surely go into one of their kabaddi glory seasons.
