Indian cricket team’s star batter Sanju Samson is consistently performing well in domestic cricket. But the selectors are still ignoring him to give a chance in Team India. Meanwhile, Samson is leading the Rajasthan-based franchise these days in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League 2023.

In the first match, Rajasthan registered a resounding victory against Hyderabad. Skipper, Samson scored the highest 55 runs in the match. It is nothing new as he is consistently performing well in the cash-rich league for the past few years, yet he is not getting a constant place in Team India. Meanwhile, former England captain Eoin Morgan recently talked about Samson’s selection and appreciated his skills.

“It’s hard to believe that he does not play more international cricket when he plays with ease and as well as this. The time he has and the power that he generates from shots of the backfoot like that are incredible,” Morgan was quoted as saying in Jio Cinema.

They are not many people that play shots like that to Adil Rashid: Eoin Morgan on Sanju Samson

Morgan continued to heap praise on Samson and said that not many people can play furious shots to Adil Rashid like Samson plays as Rashid is a difficult bowler to pick. He said that the right-hander did really well in the first match of the tournament and he just needs to be consistent.

“They are not many people that play shots like that to Adil Rashid like that throughout the world. He is a difficult bowler to pick, let alone play and attack. What a way to start the tournament, Sanju Samson. Getting out of the blocks earlier, and scoring runs early in the tournament, we have seen this before, can he maintain that? Only time will tell,” he added.

Talking about the match, asked to bat first, Rajasthan openers conceded their highest powerplay tally, courtesy of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s explosive start. Samson got a fifty as well, as Rajasthan finished with a solid first-innings score of 203 runs. Chasing the target, Hyderabad were bundled out for 131 runs and lost the match by 72 runs.
