India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul‘s poor form with the bat has continued in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh. Since scoring 70-odd runs in the first ODI against the same team early this month, he has failed with the bat. After watching the players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill scoring their Test hundreds in the first Test, Rahul was expected to go big in the ongoing game.

However, after playing 45 balls, he managed only 10 runs and was trapped lbw by Taijul Islam. On Day One of the ongoing game, the right-hander survived an lbw decision as the DRS showed that the ball was missing the stumps. On the ongoing second day, he was expected to score big runs. However, in the first session of the second day’s play, the Bangalore player came down the track to defend the ball.

However, the Red Kookaburrahit his pads, and the Bangladesh fielders appealed for an lbw. The umpire turned it down, only to reverse his decision after getting some input from the third umpire. With this, Rahul’s poor form with the bat has continued.

India is in trouble after losing three wickets before Lunch

Talking about the game, Bangladesh batted first and was restricted to 227 all-out. They lost their last five wickets for 15 runs. In reply, the KL Rahul-led side scored 86/3 before the Lunch break. They are trailed by 141 runs. Lats match centurions, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill have lost their wickets early.

On the other hand, former India skipper Virat Kohli is batting alongside Rishabh Pant. Both players would look to take the team way beyond Bangladesh’s total. They would be looking to build a long partnership. Notably, Kohli is searching for his first Test ton since 2019. He scored his last Test against the same team.
