India vice-captain KL Rahul was anticipated to score big in the ongoing semifinal game against England. After all, he came back to form with two-back-to-back fifties in the Super 12 games before the semis. These innings came against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The right-hander was playing explosively in these games. The Indian fans were having a sigh of relief as the right-hander didn’t have the best of games against Pakistan, Netherlands, and South Africa.

However, Rahul has once again disappointed the fans with another failure with the bat. In the ongoing game, he started well after scoring a boundary against Ben Stokes to get himself and the team going. However, in the second over of the innings, the Bangalore player tentatively poked at the delivery from Chris Woakes. The former could only edge the white Kookaburra to the gloves of England skipper Jos Buttler.

After this, the fans have been tearing apart the India vice-captain on Twitter.

India has lost both their openers

Talking about the game, Rohit Sharma, who has been out of form in the entire tournament, couldn’t score big. He scored a painful 27 off 28 balls including four fours before being caught at deep midwicket by Sam Curran off Chris Jordan. On the other hand, former India skipper Virat Kohli is going well at one of his favorite grounds.

He has scored 26 off 23 balls and is batting with Suryakumar Yadav, who is the third-highest run-getter in the tournament. Both players would be looking to take the team above 170-180 to remain in the game. Even though Kohli hasn’t exploded, he has made sure that the score keeps ticking with singles and doubles. On the other hand, Yadav would look to do the same or even hit a few more boundaries to increase the scoring rate.
