On 14 August 2022, two matches were there in the Hundred Men’s tournament. First, London Spirit took on Northern Superchargers in Headingley, Leeds. Then, Oval Invincibles took on the defending champions Southern Brave in London. However, the day turned out to be a historical one for the tournament.

Two players Adam Rossington and Will Jacks lighted up the tournament with some record-breaking knocks for their respective teams. Meanwhile, these players also helped their teams to register a win in the ongoing tournament. Adam Rossington represented the London Spirits while Will Jacks represented the Oval Invincibles.

Speaking of the records, Adam Rossington scored the fastest-ever half-century for his team in this tournament. He managed to reach the 50-run mark in just 15 balls with many sixes. His knock helped his team to register their fourth consecutive win in this year’s tournament. On the other hand, Will Jacks of the Oval Invincibles smashed only the second century and registered the highest-ever score in the tournament’s history.

The batter also recorded the fastest century in The Hundred’s history by reaching the milestone in just 47 balls. Last year, no batters were able to score a ton. Now, in this edition, two centuries have already come. Speaking about the matches, in the first match, Northern Superchargers scored 143 runs in 100 balls by losing five wickets. In reply, Rossington’s 66 runs off 25 balls helped London Spirit to chase it down with 18 balls to spare.

Apart from it, in the second match, Southern Brave batted first. They scored 137 runs by losing six wickets in 100 balls. In response to that, Will Jacks scored 108* runs off 48 balls to ensure the victory of the Oval Invincibles. They chased the target in 82 balls only. Will Jacks’s innings included 10 boundaries and eight sixes. He smashed those runs at a strike rate of 225. With these wins, these teams strengthen their position in the current table of this year’s tournament.
