Australia lead pacer Mitchell Starc is reported to be back for the second Test against India in Delhi. He was ruled out of the first Test which his side lost by innings and 132 runs. The first Test ended within the first three days from February 9th to 11th. In the game, the Aussies fielded Scott Boland and skipper Pat Cummins as pacers.

However, it might a difficult for the team to remove Scott Boland as he bowled well although he failed to pick a wicket. In the first Test, he bowled 17 overs and gave away only 34 runs. Also, Cummins can be dropped for obvious reasons unless he decided to rest as the series is long. Meanwhile, the Indian fans have been over the moon as they feel their national side will be in advantage in the next game.

Mitchell Starc doesn’t have a great record in India

Meanwhile, in the four Tests played by the left-arm pacer in India, he has only managed to pick seven wickets averaging 50.14 from 2013 to 2017. However, in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, his averages are better (34.12) and (17.48). One can argue that the quality of Test batting in these two sides compared to India is far inferior.

On the other hand, Starc’s overall record against India doesn’t help his cause either. In 15 games played between the two, Mitchell has picked 42 wickets averaging 37.38.
