Football fans in India were excited about the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. Over the years, the tournament was broadcasted on Sony LIV. This time around, the renowned TV channel hasn’t got the rights in India. Jio Cinema has got streaming rights in Asian country while there is no information on TV rights. Meanwhile, during the opening game of the tournament, fans faced difficulty watching the game.

Apparently, the users are complaining about the lags on the app. Fans faced this during the game between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. While the visitors won the game by 2-0, thanks to two goals from Enner Valencia. While the Ecuador fans rejoiced, the fans in India didn’t had the best of experiences while Valencia was showcasing his brilliance.

Ecuador won despite reports of the team being bribed to lose

Notably, ahead of the game, there were reports of the visitors being ‘bribed to lose’ the game. However, Valencia and his team ensured that these reports were false. Meanwhile, after the game, Qatar coach Felix congratulated their opposition and maintained that his side didn’t play well. He urged the players to get better of their nerves and do better in the rest of the tournament.

“Obviously this was not what we were hoping for,” Qatar coach Felix Sanchez said.

“There is no excuse, I want to congratulate our opponents Ecuador. There is a lot of room for improvement.

“We did not play at our best level. Maybe the responsibility and the nerves got the better of us. We just have to let go and forget about it and be more competitive. We can do it.”
