The 15th edition of the Asia Cup is happening in the UAE. However, three teams have qualified for the super four as of now. The last match of the group stage is going to happen on 2 September 2022. Pakistan will take on Hong Kong in a must-win match. India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan have qualified for the super four.
But, there are some players who have failed to show their form in the group stage. Fans were expecting a better show from them. But, they failed to perform so far for their respective countries.
Here are such five players who have failed to perform in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2022 so far
KL Rahul
This Indian batter made a comeback in the Indian colours during the ODI series in Zimbabwe. After the last year’s T20 World Cup, KL Rahul failed to play due to injury concerns. Hence, fans were hoping to see him in action again when he made the comeback. However, he failed to score big runs in that series.
But, in the ongoing Asia Cup, Rahul again failed to contribute for India while opening the innings. Against Pakistan, he scored a duck as he got out on the first ball only. In the second match against Hong Kong, he scored 36 runs off 39 balls. Fans were very upset after seeing him struggling against Hong Kong bowlers.
