‘Ye to ghar par bhi haar jaate hein’ – Fans troll Pakistan as they lose second Test to England and go 2-0 downPakistan and England locked horns in the second Test of the three-match series in Multan. The Three Lions won the first game in Rawalpindi and led the series 1-0. On the other hand, Pakistan needed to win this game to keep the series alive. Not to forget, they lost their last home series against Australia. Meanwhile, in this game, the Ben Stokes-led side once again won the toss and elected to bat first.

Once again, the team played the way they are known for in the last few months. However, this time around, they could only bat for 51.4 overs and got all out for 281 runs. This makes for less than two sessions of batting. At the end of the day, the Babar Azam-led side finished 107/2 with the skipper batting alongside Saud Shakeel.

The pair were doing well before the wicket of Azam, who was cleaned up by Ollie Robinson. From 142/2, the team lost their last eight wickets for just 60 runs, i.e got all out for 202, trailing by 79 runs. In the second innings too, the Three Lions batted the same way and got to 275 all-out in 64.5 overs. For the team, the likes of Ben Duckett (79) and Harry Brook (108) came up with good contributions.

Pakistan was set a target of 355 runs to level the series

The World Number Six Test side was asked to chase down 355 runs with more than two days left in the game. The team decided to ask Mohammad Rizwan to open with Abdullah Shafique. The regular opener, Imam Ul Haq had faced fitness issues before the start of the last innings. The decision looked like working out but Rizwan got out after scoring 30. Skipper Babar Azam made a bad judgment and lost his stumps after scoring one run.

The likes of Imam Ul Haq and Saud Shakeel managed to keep the team in the game. However, at the end of Day Three, the former lost his wicket. On the other hand, Shakeel and Mohammad Nawaz kept the team in the winning positions before they got out before the Lunch break. Salman Ali Agha tried to win the game but the tailenders didn’t provide enough support. The team lost the game by 26 runs.
