The eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League has finally ended with Lahore Qalandars successfully defending their title against Multan Sultans in a nail-biting final in Lahore on Saturday. Shaheen Afridi, now, becomes the only captain to win the PSL title twice after having led the franchise to the title in 2022 and 2023.

With Lahore’s one-run victory against Sultans, many fans are comparing PSL with the Indian T20 League and trying to prove that PSL is much better. A Pakistani journalist shared a tweet on his social media where he termed PSL as the best T20 League in the world by comparing it to the Indian T20 League.

“Pretty sure that the Indian T20 League in its entire existence has never been exciting as this PSL season alone. We Pakistanis are so lucky to have the most exciting league in the world,” the journalist wrote on his Twitter.

However, many Indian fans seemed to be unhappy with the statement and refer to the Indian league as far times better than PSL. They started mentioning the advantages of the Indian T20 League over PSL and also other things like the players’ salaries, crowd attendance, and all.

Lahore won the nail-biting final by 1 run

Talking about the final match, Lahore scored 200 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Abdullah Shafique scored a brilliant half-century, consisting of 65 runs off 40 balls, includning eight fours and two sixes. However, it was Shaheen Afridi, whose disastrous batting took Lahore to the big total.

The tailenders came to bat after the score was at 112 for 5 in 14.1 overs. After that, the Lahore skipper remained unbeaten after smashing 44 runs in just 15 deliveries. He hit fours and five sixes in his innings. Usama Mir took 3 wickets for Multan.

Coming to chase the winning total, Multan had a firing start as the skipper Mohammad Rizwan (34 off 23) and Usman Khan added 41 runs for the first wicket in 3.3 overs. After that, Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw put up a partnership of 64 runs for the second wicket. Rossouw got out after scoring 52 runs off 32 balls, hitting seven fours and two maximums.

However, after that, Lahore bowlers started taking wickets at regular intervals and the equation came down to 13 runs needed off the final over. Zaman Khan successfully defended the winning runs as Multan were restricted to 199 for 8, thereby losing the title by just 1 run.
