After missing the first ODI against England in the ongoing three-match One-Day series, Virat Kohli made a comeback into the playing XI after recovering his groin injury. But, the match did not go as per plan for both him and India as they lost the match by a high margin of 100 runs.

Chasing a tricky target of 246 runs, Indian batters failed miserably and among them, Virat only scored 16 runs off 25 balls. Like every other match, he looked in good touch as he smashed three boundaries in his trademark style. But, again he failed to capitalize on the start. However, after the match, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam came in huge support of this veteran Indian batter with a heartfelt message on Twitter.

Here is the tweet shared on Twitter:

Since 2019, Virat failed to score a century in any format of the game

Speaking of the form of Virat, he failed to register a century across all the formats of the game. He has failed to score for any of his teams during this timeline and now, the Pakistan skipper sent huge support to him with the hope of his comeback.

Babar Azam shared a picture of himself with Kohli during last year’s T20 World Cup and wrote a caption that states: “This too shall pass. Stay strong.” This heartwarming gesture from Babar might help Virat Kohli to have a better approach in his next matches. Virat will be in action for the third ODI against England at Manchester on 17 July 2022. However, he was not selected for the upcoming WI ODIs and T20s as he, personally, demanded some rest from the Indian Cricket Board.

Speaking about the second One-Day against England, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. England batters fought well and managed to put up a fighting score of 246 runs in 49 overs. In reply, India managed to score only 146 runs in 38.5 overs as England made a roaring comeback in the series with one match to go on Sunday.
