Bollywood and Cricket stars unite together to celebrate 21 years of Lagaan movie
The Bollywood movie ‘Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India’ is known as one of the most iconic films on cricket. For the last 21 years, this film has been entertaining the audiences and on Friday, 17 June 2022, the 21st anniversary of this film got celebrated.
Amir Khan hosted an intimate party in his own residence where all the cast and members of the film got together. Former cricket players like Aakash Chopra and Irfan Pathan also attended that party to celebrate this moment.

Amir Khan Productions also shared some glimpses of this party on their Twitter account with a caption: “#21YearsOfLagaan”. Aamir Khan was joined by the film’s main cast Yashpal Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra, Rajendra Zutshi, Shankar Pandey, Raja Awasthi, Dayashankar Pandey, Suhasini Mulay, Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat, and Amin Gazi alongside the director Ashutosh Gowarikar.
The video also showed that all the members of the film and cricket stars like Irfan Pathan, and Aakash Chopra enjoyed themselves together by chatting, talking, and playing some foosball. This film was all about ancient India when the country was under the British Raj. The movie highlighted how a bunch of villagers accepted a challenge put out by the Britishers to indulge in a game of cricket in order to wave away the high taxes that were levied on them. Still, after all these years, this film is very close to the hearts of many cricket lovers in India.

Speaking about the film, it was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It also achieved considerable commercial and critical recognition as it was the country’s third nomination in the category.
