‘Bro living on another planet’ – Chris Paul responds to trash talk by Steph Curry in 2014

Despite a long history between Chris Paul and Steph Curry, at one point, as a mentor and mentoree, it seems like there’s a small chunk of time that Paul has blocked from his memory. During the 123-112 victory by the Warriors over the Suns on Monday night at Chase Center, Curry shared a heated moment with Paul after muscling through the opposing point guard and making a layup.

It seemed like Curry yelled “It’s not 2014 no more” to Paul, which invoke the memories of the Los Angeles Clippers’ opening-round NBA playoff victory over the Warriors nine years ago. In his ninth NBA season and third with the Clippers Paul averaged 17.4 points, 9.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds from the seven games.

I don’t know anything about that, 2014:Paul

After the match on Monday, Paul told The Arizona Republic’s reporter Duane Rankin that he had no idea what Curry was referring to with his trash talk and Paul didn’t even hear him say it.

“Did he say it to me? No, he didn’t say it to me. Where did you see it at? They showed him saying it to me? Oh, I don’t know anything about that, 2014. I’m not trying to be funny. Y’all got to ask [Curry]. I don’t know what happened in 2014,” Paul told Rankin.

Paul further confirmed that everything is good between him and Curry. He also reminisced the time when Curry used to work out with him during the summers of 2009 after being drafted by Golden State.

“It’s all competition. You play against somebody for so many years, and the love I got for him — our history and all that — so this was competition, back and forth, give and take,” Paul further added.
