Cameron Green made headlines during the Indian T20 League 2023 in December last year. He was the second costliest player after Sam Curran (18.5 crores) as he was bought by Mumbai one crore less than Curran. While the Mumbai fans were getting excited to keep a tab on Green’s every game, he got sustained a finger injury. This happened in the Boxing Day Test between Australia and South Africa

The right-hander was ruled out of the ongoing Sydney Test against the Proteas. While his return is unknown, reports surfaced that he might not play in the upcoming season of the cash-rich league in recent times. However, the 23-year-old has rubbished the reports. He started by saying that he has been hearing about the reports and had no idea when did it all started. Also, the all-rounder addressed another rumor of him not bowling in the tournament.

“No, that’s [reports] not correct. I’ve heard about this for a quite a while now I think. I don’t know where it’s come from. I’ve heard that I’m 100 percent available for both skill sets in the ITL at the start, so yeah, I’m not too sure where that’s kind of come from,” Cameron Green told SEN Sportsday WA.

My first priority will be the Test series against India: Cameron Green

Meanwhile, before the high-octane tournament, Australia will play the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and a three-match ODI series in India. The series will start with a four-match Test series, followed by the ODIs. Meanwhile, Green has said that before playing in the Indian T20 League, his first priority is to play the high-pressure, Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Talking about the series, Australia won it for the last time in 2014-15. Since then, India has been dominant in the series.

“Obviously my first priority is the Test Series that’s beforehand. I think me and Starcy (Mitchell Starc) are maybe touch and go for that first one but obviously we’ll give ourselves the best chance,” Green added.
