Team India is currently busy playing the three-match ODI series against England. However, after winning the series opener, India faced a major loss against them with a margin of 100 runs on 14 July 2022. Virat Kohli was not in the first match due to his groin injury. But, he made a comeback in the second match.

Despite his comeback, India failed to chase down a modest target of 247 runs where Kohli managed only 16 runs off 25 balls. Now, a former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria raised questions about the selection of Kohli in the playing XI on the Koo app.

“Why are the selection committee and management playing with carriers of Indian talented cricketers?” – Danish Kaneria

Speaking on the Koo app, Kaneria said that the Team India management is playing with the careers of some players by not giving them any chance for playing in Indian colours. He said: “When world-class off-spinner Ashwin can be dropped then why not Virat where is Deepak Hooda why are the selection committee and management playing with carriers of Indian talented cricketers.”

He also blamed the Indian Team management for not providing confidence to talented players like Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Hooda, and Suryakumar Yadav. “Who is the person playing Ludo with Indians and fans of the Indian team, Arshdeep, Deepak Hooda, and Surya need to give them full confidence they are the backbone of Indian Cricket,” he added.

A few days back, he also supported former Indian skipper Kapil Dev’s comments about dropping Virat Kohli for the upcoming matches. Meanwhile, current Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, and Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam came in full support of Kohli despite his poor run of form in recent years. However, Virat Kohli will be not in the squad for the upcoming WI ODIs and T20Is later this month as he requested some rest from the board personally. He will play the third and final ODI match of this ongoing series against England on Sunday (17 July 2022).
