Former South African star batter AB de Villiers is considered one of the greatest batters in T20 cricket. He has amassed 1672 runs in 78 T20Is for the Proteas and also smashed 5162 in 184 matches in the Indian T20 League. The South African legend has registered so many great partnerships with his teammates Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle for the Bangalore franchise.

The deadly trio was a nightmare for the bowlers as all three batters are known for smashing the opposition out of the park. Former Bangalore skipper Kohli shares a great bond with De Villiers and both of them have won so many matches for their franchise throughout the seasons. Gayle was known for his ability to go big from the very first ball, and the players like him and De Villiers in the team were a treat for the Bangalore fans to watch.

However when De Villiers was asked to choose the greatest T20 player of all time, neither he chose himself, nor did he goes for his pals, Kohli and Gayle. He instead picked the 24-year-old cricketer from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan as the greatest T20 player.

“My greatest T20 player of all time is none other than Rashid Khan. He delivers with bat and ball. Match winner in both departments; he is a livewire in the field and has got the heart of a lion. He always wants to win; he’s very competitive, and he’s right there with one of the best T20 players. Not one of the best, the best,” said ABD in a video posted by SuperSport Tv on their social media.

The leg spinner has been one of the crucial players for Afghanistan since his debut. He also the previous season of the Indian T20 League with the Gujarat franchise. Rashid is known for his power hitting coming down the order and increasing the run rate of the team. The 24-year-old has taken 511 wickets from 381 T20 matches and has also amassed 1893 runs in 222 innings he played.
