‘Ek number ki ghatiya team hai’ – Fans Fuming As India Suffer A Humiliating Loss Against Sri Lanka

In the second match of the ‘Super Four’ of the Asia Cup, India took on Sri Lanka. India was under immense pressure as they lost the first match against Pakistan by five wickets. On the other hand, Sri Lanka was coming off a thrilling victory over Afghanistan in the first match. Hence, India was looking to keep itself alive in the tournament by winning this match.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka was looking to seal their place in the final of this tournament. Therefore, the stage was set for both teams for an enthralling encounter. Speaking of the match, Sri Lanka won the toss. Shanaka asked India to bat first. India again went with Rishabh Pant over Dinesh Karthik. They made only one change by bringing back Ravichandran Ashwin in place of Ravi Bishnoi.

For India, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to open the innings. Again, KL Rahul failed to score big as he got out after scoring six runs off seven balls. In-form Virat Kohli also scored a four-ball duck. Therefore, they were in a spot of trouble. But, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma stitched a solid partnership of 97 runs. Rohit Sharma finally scored a fifty for India after a long time. He scored 72 runs off 41 balls at a strike rate of 175.60. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav scored 34 runs off 29 balls. But, other batters fail to contribute as India scored 173 runs by losing eight wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka openers started brilliantly. Sri Lanka scored 89 runs in the first 10 overs. However, India broke the partnership in the 12th over. However, Chahal helped India by picking up three wickets in his four overs. He took those wickets by conceding 34 runs. Ashwin also took a wicket by conceding 32 runs in four overs. In 17 overs, Sri Lanka reached 141 runs for four wickets. But, they managed to chase it down in 19.5 overs. Thus, they won the match by six wickets and sealed their place in the final of this tournament. With this loss, India’s journey in this year’s Asia Cup got finished.
