Former England all-rounder, Andrew Flintoff was airlifted to a hospital after he sustained injuries during a car crash. Apparently, the 2005 Ashes Hero was shooting an episode of the BBC’s “Top Gear” show. The makers were testing the track for a Formula One race. Flintoff has been associated with the show since 2019. Meanwhile, during the shoot, the former all-rounder met with an accident.

According to the broadcasters of the show, the crew medics rushed to the spot immediately. After this, the 45-year-old was taken to a hospital via air route. As per reports from The Sun, the Lancashire player hasn’t sustained any life-threatening injuries. The report added that the shooting has been postponed for the time being.

“Freddie (Flintoff) was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning – with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course,” a BBC spokesperson told Reuters.

“All the usual health and safety measures were in place for filming too,” a source told The Sun. “Freddie was taken to hospital by air ambulance shortly afterwards.

“Filming has been postponed for now and all anyone cares about is Freddie recovering.”

Talking about Flintoff, he quit cricket in 2010 and became a boxer for a while before joining the show in 2019. Since then, he has been part of the show.

Andrew Flintoff sustained a crash in 2019 as well

Notably, in the first year of his joining, Andrew sustained a 125 mph crash (201.168 kmph to be precise). However, he walked away from the incident and claimed that he was fine. After the incident, he had said “I go to great lengths to make sure I do well in Top Gear drag races but, on this occasion, I went a few lengths too far. It will look more ridiculous than dangerous when you see it on TV.”
