Apparently, both sides were lashing out at each other as they were unhappy with the decision. Meanwhile, the brawl was so bad Denzel Dumfries of the Dutch side received two yellow cards and was ushered off the field after the penalty shootout. After the game, Messi and Argentine goalie Emi Martinez criticized the goalie.

In reaction to this, FIFA has decided to take disciplinary actions against the Argentine Football Association and the respective players. Another notable thing is that if Leo is found guilty, he might miss the semifinal game against Croatia. The game will be played on December 13. Talking about the disciplinary actions, Argentina can be slapped for breaching Articles 12 and 16 of the game. These rules deal with the Misconduct of players and officials and Order and security at matches respectively.

You cannot put a referee who is not up to the level: Lionel Messi

After the game, the PSG striker didn’t mice words about the officials of the game. He said that one of the referees wasn’t up to the mark.

“I don’t want to talk about referees because then they will sanction you, but we were scared before the game because we knew what was coming [with Mateu Lahoz]. I can’t say what I think, but FIFA have to look at this. [FIFA] cannot put a referee like that on this game when he is not up to the level,” said Messi.
