On Day five of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022, four games were played at different venues. First up, Switzerland faced Cameroon at the Al Janoub Stadium. After this, two-time winners, Uruguay played South Korea. The Third game was a highly anticipated one as Cristiano Ronaldo was going to be in action after his recent controversies. In other words, Portugal played Ghana. The last game was played between five-time winners, Brazil and Serbia.

Match Number 1 – Switzerland vs Cameroon

In the first game of the day, the European side was given a hard time by Cameroon. For the Swiss, Cameroon-born Breel Embolo did the trick as he scored the match-winning goal in the 48th minute. Apart from this, both teams defended well but the Red Brigade ran away with the game.

Match Number 2 – Uruguay vs South Korea

The two-time winners in 1930 and 1950 played against one of the rising teams in Asian football, South Korea. Both teams settled for a 0-0 draw. None of these teams shot on target which in itself is a record in the World Cup.

Match Number 3 – Portugal vs Ghana

This was highly anticipated as Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal was up against one of the rising sides from Africa, Ghana. However, the West African side turned out to be ‘No-Pushovers’. In the first half, both teams fought and the score read 0-0. In the second half, Ronaldo scored in the 65th minute via a penalty. Eight minutes later, Andre Ayew from Ghana scored to make a game out of it.

However, one goal each from Joao Felix (78′) and Rafael Leao (80′) kept the team in front. In the 89th minute, Osman Bukari scored to give a scare of the draw to the Green Brigade. However, Ronaldo’s team won by 3-2.

Match Number 4 – Brazil vs Serbia

In the last game of the day, the most successful side, Brazil locked horns with Serbia. It was a one-sided affair with Richarlison scored in the 62nd and 73rd minute to take the team home.
