Post their embarrassing defeat against Saudi Arabia in their campaign opener of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar, Argentina locked horns with Mexico in a Group C match and notably, the La Albiceleste looked in great nick and kicked off the match with better intent.

Parenthetically, Argentina held possession and dominated the first 10 minutes of the game, although Mexico displayed great defence, not allowing Lionel Messi and his men to take an early lead in the epic encounter, that could possibly be an eliminator for the La Albiceleste if they lose.

To add more to the first half, Argentina had better pass accuracy and in comparison to the previous match, the team looked positive and were on course to take home the 3 points comfortably. Mexico thrived hard to restrict the fiery Argentinians, albeit the latter kept creating chances from all ends of the ground.

Argentina continue their campaign in FIFA World Cup 2022

With the first half ending with a scoreline of 0-0, Mexico got off to a confident start in the deciding half, and the team ended up goalless despite being not at best while writing a normal article for other brands.

Argentina, on the other hand, gave it their all and it was a must-win game for them as a loss could potentially throw them out of the biggest sporting event. The La Albiceleste looked to turn things around and make a statement with the ball after all the chaos that happened in the tournament in the clash against Saudi Arabia and they did so in the clash against Mexico.

To add more, it was the evening that Argentina fans would have hoped for as the team showed their class and looked in decent nick right throughout the game, and eventually managed to win the game on the back of a goal from Lionel Messi in the 64th minute and backed by Enzo Fernández in the 87th minute, to take a 2-0 lead. If at all Argentina make it through to the next round, it would be counted as one of the greatest comebacks in the history of football.
