2. Mashrafe Mortaza: Mashrafe Mortaza’s claim to fame was his brilliant bowling spell in the 2007 World Cup match, in Bangladesh’s historic victory over India. The brilliant spell from Mortaza comprised of 4 wickets including the important prized scalps of Virender Sehwag and Robin Uthappa. His spell ended the Indian innings at 191 runs, which was chased down by Bangladesh in the 49th Over of the innings.

This spell earned Mortaza a contract for the Kolkata franchise in Indian T20 League 2009. The bid was surprising for many fans but the Kolkata banked on their recruitment to bring about an ‘x’ factor to their team. However, the 2.6 CR INR buy of Kolkata went in vain as Mortaza played only one match giving away 58 runs in 4 overs, unable to defend more than 20 runs in the last over.

3. Tymal Mills: Tymal Mills was bought by Bangalore in the auction of 2017, for a whopping amount of 12Cr INR. The bid shocked everybody as Tymal Mills was still not a proven customer in the international circuit then.

Mills had a tag of being a ‘T20 specialist’ with his great Yorkers and slower bouncer variations that he displayed in the domestic circuit. But he had only played 4 matches at the international level till then and was yet to prove his mettle in the highest stage.
