The India T20 League is considered the biggest T20 league in the world. The tournament has been the stage for showcasing themselves to the biggest names in the cricketing world and also the local uncapped talents. Before the start of every season, the franchises look to revamp their squads. While they retain some of the players, they also try and rope in some new players into the team trying to balance their team combination.

The Indian T20 League 2022 has been one more season of thrilling and exhilarating action. While some players displayed the best of their skills and showed the world their worth, others have failed to live up to the expectations and the benchmarks they have set for themselves. The failures on part of the players might lead their current franchises to release them. Here is a list of players who if released from their current teams might earn big bucks in the auction ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League.

1. Devdutt Padikkal: After having a great run in the domestic circuit, Devdutt Padikkal was picked up by Bangalore ahead of the Indian T20 League 2019. In 2020, he scored three half-centuries in the first four matches and became the first batter in the history of the competition to do so. He also went on to win the Emerging player of the season award.

His incredible performances prompted Rajasthan to buy him ahead of the Indian T20 League 2022. But due to the abundance of batter, Padikkal did not get a chance to bat at his natural opening position. He also failed to live up to the franchise’s expectations of him and was able to score 376 runs at an average of 22.12 with only one 50+ score in the tournament. This might lead Rajasthan to release him and some other team in a need of a steady opener might pick him up.
