In the grand finale of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup in Australia, Pakistan and England will tussle for the biggest prize of the year at the MCG. Both teams are evenly matched in the build-up to the final, but former English batting legend Kevin Pietersen made a bold prediction, predicting an easy win for the Jos Buttler-led team.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen believes Pakistan can only win on Sunday if England ‘self-destruct’. Jos Buttler’s side, according to Pietersen, is a cut above their opponents and will be too hot to handle for the Men in Green.

“Pakistan needs to hope that England self-destructs by being reckless and overconfident. I think it’s an incredible strength that they can just go out there and play the way that they do, but we do know there’s one thing that can happen to this England team – they can get rolled over for none because it’s a sixathon. That’s the only thing that I can see derailing England, and that’s what Pakistan need to hope for, because I don’t think they can derail England themselves. I’m predicting a comfortable win for England,” Pietersen Pietersen wrote in his column for Betway.

It was convincing as anything because that Indian team is star-studded: Kevin Pietersen

While talking about England’s incredible batting performance in the semi-final against India, the batting legend praised the team for outclassing a star-studded Indian side. He thought the convincing victory was one of the best performances by any team in this year’s World Cup.

“That England performance ranks right up there. It was convincing as anything because that Indian team is star-studded. To beat them as convincingly as they did was spectacular. They didn’t let India into the game at all. There was no doubt in my mind when India posted that score,” he added.

The final showdown will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on the 13th of November.
