‘Garaj Raha Hai Gujarat!’ – Fans Congratulate Gujarat Giants After Their Close Victory Over Manipal Tigers In A Close Encounter

On 19 September 2022, the third match of this year’s Legends League Cricket took place in Lucknow. Gujarat Giants locked horns with Manipal Tigers with a motive to continue their winning start. On the other hand, Manipal Tigers were coming off after losing the first match. Hence, they were looking to win their first match in the tournament.

Speaking of the match, Virender Sehwag won the toss and he elected to bowl first. For Manipal, Shivakant Shukla and Swapnil Asnodkar came out to open the innings. But, both of them departed when the team scored 19 runs in 4.2 overs. Then, in-form Mohammad Kaif came out to bat at number three.

In the middle order, Kaif and Ravikant Shukla tried to steady the ship for their team. Kaif scored 24 runs off 29 balls. While, Shukla scored 32 runs off 32 balls, including two fours only. After that, other batters came up with some contributions as the team ended with a score of 120 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets. For Manipal, Ashok Dinda and Dilshan took two wickets each in their respective four overs. In reply, Virender Sehwag came out to open the innings with Kevin O’Brien. But, Sehwag failed again as he got out for just one run. Then, in the same over, Dilshan also got out for a duck.

Zimbabwe’s Chris Mpofu was on fire as he took those wickets in that same over. But, Kevin O’Brien, Parthiv Patel, and Thisara Perrera came up with some handy contributions. Kevin scored 23 runs off 19 balls. While Perrera scored 22 runs off 20 balls. But, it was Parthiv Patel who scored 34 runs off 17 balls, including six fours and one six. But, they held their nerves as Manipal managed to chase down the target in 17.2 overs. However, they also lost eight wickets while chasing that target. Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel won the player of the match award for his vital knock. Fans also congratulate them on Twitter after their victory over Manipal Tigers in that close encounter.
