On October 23 last year, India and Pakistan locked horns in the Super 12 round of the 20-20 World Cup in Melbourne. The game was never dull as it kept swinging in favor of either team after a while. However, after the Men In Blue lost four wickets for 31 runs, the game shifted heavily towards the Babar Azam-led side. Thanks to Virat Kohli‘s 82 not out and a useful hand from Hardik Pandya, India won the game.

Meanwhile, in the penultimate over, the Rohit Sharma-led side needed 28 runs off just eight balls. Rauf was bowling with Kohli on strike. The latter played a Tennis shot over long-on as Rauf bowled a back-of-a-length delivery. The shot was one of the rare ones and was talked about a lot during the tournament. Three months after this, the right-arm pacer made an appearance on Pakistan’s popular show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’.

Virat Kohli won’t play this shot again: Haris Rauf

During his interaction on the show, the Melbourne Stars player in the BBL said the shot hurt as t went for a six. He added that it felt to him that something wrong happened. However, the 29-year-old further added that Kohli won’t be able to play that shot ever again.

“Of course, it hurt when that went for a six. I didn’t say anything but it hurt me personally. I thought something wrong had happened,” Haris said.

“Anyone who knows cricket knows what sort of a player he is. He has played that shot now; I don’t think he can do that again. Such shots are quite rare, you can’t hit them again and again. His timing was perfect and it went for a six,” said the speedster.

Talking about India and Pakistan, both qualified for the semis. However, only the Green Brigade managed to reach the final. India lost to England in the semis. The Three Lions eventually beat Pakistan in the final to claim their second title since 2010.
