Lucknow took on Hyderabad in the 12th match of the Indian T20 League at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The match promised a close encounter, but the Lucknow bowlers made it easier for the team in the late phases of the match.

It is a general sight on the cricket field that players celebrate when a wicket falls. But contrary to the norms the Lucknow skipper, KL Rahul was seen asking his teammates not to celebrate the wicket of Bhuvneswar Kumar. It was the fourth ball of the 20th over when Jason Holder dismissed Bhuvneswar Kumar. As the players started to celebrate, KL Rahul was seen signaling to his teammates to speed up the proceedings and refrain from the celebrations.

Rahul was well aware that the match had extended beyond the cut-off time of 11 PM IST. So, the skipper was looking to rush the proceedings in an attempt to avoid the fine for slow over-rate. How successful was KL Rahul in his attempt will be decided by the match referee, but for now he will be happy with his team’s second win in the tournament.

Lucknow pulled off another brilliant performance under pressure. After losing quick wickets in the first innings, Deepak Hooda played a great counter-attacking knock along with Rahul to bring them out of trouble. As the team reached a total of 169 runs in their 20 overs, their bowlers did a great job in restricting the opposition 12 runs short of their total. Avesh Khan and Jason Holder was particularly good with the ball in hand for Lucknow.
