After winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 trophy for the fifth time, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) travelled to Balaji Mandir in Tirupati. The CSK management team could be seen making a special pooja while holding the IPL trophy at the sacred location. In an exciting match, MS Dhoni and the company defeated GT by five wickets. While CSK management headed to Tirupati to thank God for the fifth IPL championship, CSK players were seen in Ahmedabad cutting a cake and dancing in celebration of the victory.

The supporters reacted to the widely shared video of CSK visiting the Tirupati temple were conflicting. Some people thought the CSK management’s trip to the temple with the IPL trophy was needless. Despite the fact that the squad wasn’t the favourite to win the title, several people thought it was a worthy gesture. Super Kings came second from bottom in the IPL 2023 season and suffered injury losses to several of its key players this time around. But Captain Dhoni always managed his players effectively and allowed the team to play as a unit.

I think it started over here: MS Dhoni

CSK captain Dhoni is scheduled to be evaluated for a knee injury at Kokilaben Hospital after taking home the championship. The wicketkeeper batter had trouble in IPL 2023 due to a bad knee, and he was spotted with a thick bandage covering it. Although it was widely believed that the IPL 2023 would be Dhoni’s final season as a player, the wicketkeeper batter has postponed his retirement.

“If you see circumstantially, this is the best time for me to announce retirement. But the amount of love and affection I’ve been shown wherever I’ve been this year, the easy thing for me would be to say, ‘Thank you very much’. You do get emotional for the simple fact that it’s the last part of my career, and I think it started over here when I was playing the first game [of IPL 2023]. I just walked out, and the full house was chanting my name,” Dhoni was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation after winning the fifth title for his side.
