Virat Kohli, the Indian giant, scored an unbeaten 82 to help India clinch an emphatic win against Pakistan on October 23. The spectators who gathered in huge numbers, witnessed the event unfold. The final-over drama made it one of the most memorable games in the history of the game.

For the unversed, India required 16 runs off the final over and Kohli pulled off a stunner in the third ball of the over as he sent a waist-high full-toss for a six. However, further drama unfolded when Dinesh Karthik perished in the penultimate ball of the match and made way for Ravichandran Ashwin. The off-spinner eventually won the match for India and, later, commented on the same on his YouTube channel.

Ashwin said that Kohli was pumped up and batted like a possessed person. Further, the Indian veteran spinner claimed that he cursed Karthik for getting out in the crunch time.

With only two 2 runs required off the final ball, Ashwin managed to let a ball slide down the leg wide and, thus, bagged an extra run for the team. With scores tied, the star spinner played a lofted drive over mid-off and won the match for team India, avenging the defeat of the previous edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

“As I walked in to bat, I cursed Dinesh Karthik for a second and then later thought, ‘No no, we still have time, let us do what we were here for’. It seemed like I was walking for ages to get to the pitch,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

“Then I saw Virat Kohli and he told me so many things. But I thought of only one thing after seeing him. “God has given you so much today. So how will he ever let me down? So at least for you, won’t let me get these runs?” See the ball, then place it in a vacant space and just run, this is what I thought to myself,” said the spinner further.

India will play their next match against the Netherlands on Thursday.
