 India announce 18-member squad for the T20I series against West Indies, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah rested

India has announced an 18-member squad for the T20I series against West Indies starting on 29th July in Trinidad. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the five match-series, while Rohit Sharma will lead the side. KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav might return to the team if given a fitness clearance.

Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik, among a few others, have retained their spot from the last T20I series against England. Ravichandran Ashwin, on the other hand, has been called to the T20I squad for the first time since November 2021.

Earlier, India had also announced the ODI squad for the tour. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, among others, have been rested for the three-match series. Shikhar Dhawan has been named the captain of the side, with Ravindra Jadeja serving as his deputy.

The ODI series between India and the West Indies and the United States began on July 22 in Trinidad. They will face the two-time world champions in five Twenty20 Internationals in Trinidad, St. Kitts, and Lauderhill (Florida). The final match of the series will be played on the 7th of August.
