 Indian Cricket Board issues detailed statements on Rishabh Pant’s accident and recovery

India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has met with an accident while traveling to his home in Roorkee. At 5:30 AM IST, his car lost its balance and hit the divider of the highway he was driving on. After a while, the left-hander got stuck in his car and was taken out by the locals and the police. Notably, the Mercedes GLE that he was driving turned into ashes as it caught fire after the incident.

Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board took a notice of the tragedy and issued a detailed statement on it. The statement says that the former India U19 player was admitted to Saksham Hospital. The statement also gave a detail on the kind of injuries Pant sustained after the tragedy.

“Rishabh Pant met with a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He was admitted to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries,” Indian Cricket Board said in a statement.

“Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment,” the statement added.

The statement further added that the board is constantly in touch with Rishabh’s family. They have assured the best possible treatment of the wicketkeeper batter at this stage.

“The Indian Cricket Board is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase.”
