 Indian Selectors Finally Give Permission To Indian Players To Play At Foreign T20 Leagues

Australia’s new T20 Max series is set to be played over three weeks, from August 18 to September 4. All matches are going to be conducted at the club grounds and the refurbished Allan Border Field, under lights. However, two Indian youngsters made headlines on 22 July 2022 as they got picked up by two clubs. They are going to represent those two teams in this upcoming tournament.

Two young Indian quicks, Chetan Sakariya, and Mukesh Chowdhary have been roped in by two teams, Sunshine Coast, and Wynnum-Manly respectively. These pacers will have the opportunity to train at Cricket Australia’s National Cricket Centre in Brisbane. They are going to be part of the Queensland Bulls’ pre-season preparations also.

The T20 Max series will have a more International presence

Apart from this Indian T20 League duo, Queensland Cricket Board announced some changes in the competition rules. In an official statement, the Board said: “Due to the popularity of the concept and a surge in the number of players expressing interest, Queensland Cricket today updated the competition rules to allow each Premier club to sign an additional interstate or international recruit, moving from three players per club to four.”

The Board also added that contracted players will be available also for selection. “Several regionally based players have already brokered arrangements with teams, while contracted Queensland Bulls and Brisbane Heat players will be available for selection as part of their pre-season preparations.” the Board concluded.

As per reports, these players are going to join three Papua New Guinea internationals. Speaking of these two Indian talents, Chetan Sakariya had an excellent Indian T20 League 2021 for his Rajsthan franchise. It also earned him a maiden call-up to India as he played an ODI and two T20Is so far. On the other hand, Mukesh Chowdhary had a fantastic debut Indian League season for his Chennai franchise by picking up 16 wickets in 13 games. A strong list of current or recent Big Bash players will be available also to play in this T20 Max series.
