 Indian Wrestler Pooja Sihag’s Husband Found Dead In Haryana

The Indian contingent performed very well in the last Commonwealth Games in England. Indian wrestlers were in good form throughout the mega event. In the Commonwealth Games 2022, the Indian wrestler Pooja Sihag made her country proud. She bagged a bronze medal in the Women’s Freestyle 76kg category. But, now, she received the shocking news as reports are there of his husband’s death. 

Reports are suggesting that her husband, Ajay Nandal breathed his last under mysterious circumstances on 27 August 2022. His body has been sent to postmortem and reports are yet to come. Notably, Pooja Sihag got married to him last year. Ajay was also a wrestler since 2010 and was also working in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

However, Ajay Nandal’s father alleged that his son’s friend overdosed him on drugs. As per recent reports, Ajay was consuming alcohol near Maharani Kishori Jat Kanya Mahavidyalaya College when he went unconscious. 

Local police reported: “Early reports informed us that few people felt uneasy after consuming alcohol and were taken to a nearby hospital. Pooja Nandal’s husband died while his companion Sonu and Ravi are undergoing treatment,”. Speaking of Pooja Sihag, she won a medal in the last Commonwealth Games 2022. Haryana state also rewarded her with INR 57.5 Lakh on 15 August 2022. In the quarterfinals, she defeated Australia’s Naomi de Bruine. Pooja gave a spectacular performance. Meanwhile, 20 players from Haryana won medals at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

Speaking of this mega event, India finished with a total number of 61 medals. This country bagged 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze. India was in the fourth spot. Speaking of others, Australia ended the tournament at the top with 67 gold, 57 silver, and 54 bronze medals. England secured the second position with 57 gold, 66 silver, and 53 bronze medals. On the other hand, Canada secured the third position with 26 gold, 32 silver, and 34 bronze medals.
