The final shooting range, which is currently under construction, will be finished by the first week of this month. It is being prepared for the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2023, which was previously held only in Delhi. This year, it will be held in Bhopal from March 20 to March 31 at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Barkheda.

The government is investing about Rs 25 crore to build Asia’s best-equipped final shooting range and India’s first indoor final shooting range. The range will be 80 x 35 square metres in size. There are three shooting ranges available: 50 metres, 25 metres, and 10 metres. Workers are working day and night to finish the structure in time for the tournament.

The Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy had everything needed for the World Cup qualification rounds. The only thing missing was the final range for medal rounds. A final shooting range in the stadium is one of the mandates for organising an ISSF world cup. Final ranges are multi-functional ranges in which all competitions are played parallelly.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar is the only Madhya Pradesh player in the Indian contingent competing in medal events at the ISSF World Cup. Ashi Chouksey, another player from MP, is competing in a non-medalled recovery point objective event. The ISSF World Cup shooting preparation camp will be held in Bhopal from March 10 to March 19.
