Cheteshawar Pujara only plays for India in the Test format

Speaking of the shared tweet, Irfan Pathan questioned the motive behind Pujara’s such a huge form. On Twitter, he wrote: “Kya Iraada hai ? @cheteshwar1”. On 23 August 2022, Pujara played a knock of 132 runs off 90 balls for Sussex, at a strike rate of 146.66. He is leading the side in this tournament.

He also hit 20 boundaries and two sixes in his inning. His inning was crucial which led Sussex to post a total of 400 runs by losing four wickets only. In reply, Middlesex only managed to score 243 runs in 38.1 overs. Hence, Sussex won the match by 157 runs. With this win, Sussex ended the group stage by sitting at the top position in Group A.

Ahead of the next 50-over World Cup in India, Pujara’s innings can make some heads turn. He is known as a specialist Test batter. But, now with this kind of form in the 50-over format, he can become another option for India. Speaking of his international career, he only played five ODI matches for India. He scored 51 runs in those matches. On the other hand, he played 96 Tests where he scored 6792 runs, including 18 hundred and 33 fifties. Sussex will be in action again on 30 August 2022 for the second semi-final of this event.
