Delhi’s star Australian star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh tested positive for the COVID test. As the news gained fire, a new trend started in Twitter. “Cancel ITL” was trending on Twitter, which excited the fans of the two teams placed at the bottom of the points table, Chennai and Mumbai.
Notably, as Marsh tested COVID positive, Delhi canceled their travel to Pune for their next match against Punjab. There was a high alarm regarding the development as the future of the tournament depended on it. Following the positive result, the entire team was quarantined in the hotel and door-to-door tests were to be conducted.
Earlier, team physio Patrick Farhart was sent to isolation after he tested positive last week. This was the first positive COVID case reported for the season since its beginning on the 26th of March, 2022.
However, the trend of demands to cancel the tournament on Twitter excieted the supporters of two teams. Mumbai and Chennai, the two most successful teams in the history of the tournament, are having a terrible time in the 15th edition. So, the fans of the two teams are delighted with the prospect of the nightmarish run ending sooner.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Mitchell Marsh has tested negative in his mandatory RT-PCR test after testing positive for Rapid Antigen Test. This means that Delhi will now be travelling to Pune for their next fixture and the tournament is expected to continue without further interruptions.
“Mitchell Marsh’s RT-PCR report has come negative. RT-PCR report is supposed to be conclusive evidence and all other members have also tested negative in RT-PCR tests. There is no threat to Wednesday’s match between Delhi and Punjab,”- to quote a senior BCCI official from PTI.
