‘Itni nafraat leke koi insaan kaise jee leta hai’ – Twitter divided as Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik refuse to apply Tilak

Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik have been doing well for India in recent times. Not to forget, the former has been doing well across formats for India since last 2020. Siraj was part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 winning side (also voted as the ultimate Test series by the fans). On the other hand, Malik registered the fastest delivery by an Indian across formats last month. In the first T20I against Sri Lanka last month, he bowled at 156 kmph.

Meanwhile, both players have become subject to discussion outside of the game. Apparently, in a video that is going viral, both players like some others refuse to let the hotel staff apply Tilak on their foreheads. For the unversed, applying Tilak is a cultural thing as far as Hindu tradition is concerned. Meanwhile, the timeline of the video is unknown as India hosted Sri Lanka and New Zealand last month.

It’s a great feeling to become the number one ODI bowler: Mohammed Siraj

Meanwhile, Hyderabad-born, Siraj has recently become the number-one bowler in the ODI rankings. In the last few months, he has been dominating the bowling in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who hasn’t played the game due to a stress fracture. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin spoke to Siraj and asked about how the latter felt.

“No. 1 ODI bowler, yeppadi da irrukai, yeppadi da feel pannrai?” (No. 1 ODI bowler, how are you? How are you feeling?),” Ashwin asked. To which, the Bangalore player in the Indian T20 League said that it is a great feeling to become the number one bowler.

“Bahut hi achha lag raha hai, socha nahi tha ki number 1 bowler banunga. It’s a good feeling (I’m feeling quite good, I’ve never imagined I would become number 1 bowler).”

Meanwhile, both Ashwin and Siraj will be playing in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India. The home team will be the defending champions as they have won the last three series.
