Former South African cricketer Makhaya Ntini recently gave heaps of praise to the South African ace bowler Kagiso Rabada for his consistent performance for the team. Ntini discussed that Rabada is currently chasing the 300 wickets mark in his career but he can easily achieve the 400 mark.

Ntini highlighted that the players are only playing 2 to 3 Test matches per year which prevents them from taking a lot of wickets and restricts them from achieving the milestones. Rabada is currently representing South Africa for a two-match Test series of India’s tour of South Africa. Rabada took a 5-wicket haul in the first innings of the first Test match.

Ntini on Kagiso Rabada’s consistent performances for South Africa

“He is already up there. When you talk about those guys, when you talk about those bowlers, they have passed the 400-mark and KG is chasing the 300-mark. But we have got a massive problem,” said Ntini.

“You are playing two Test matches a year and what is that? Do you think this guy (Rabada) can hold up till he gets to that milestone? It’s not going to be easy for the nature of games (number of matches and formats) that is being given to South Africa to play against other countries,” he added.

“No! Your country is your priority. Take the example of Kagiso. How many Test matches has he played and he still continues to play IPL? If Gerald Coetzee today thinks that he is getting a million rands and what he should do now, that will be his biggest mistake,” Ntini concluded.
