On 20 September 2022, India kicked off their three-match T20I series against Australia in Mohali. After having a poor Asia Cup campaign, it was a huge test for India. Speaking about players, Hardik Pandya is going to be a crucial player in the upcoming mega event in Australia. In the Asia Cup, Hardik looked good in the first match against arch-rivals Pakistan. In that match, he took three wickets and scored a match-winning 33* runs. But, in the next matches, he failed to contribute significantly.

In the Asia Cup, he scored 50 runs in three matches, at an average of 25. Along with it, he took four wickets in three matches. Hence, he failed to show consistency throughout the tournament. Therefore, fans were expecting a better show from him in this first T20I against the Aussies. Speaking of the match, Australia won the toss and they asked India to bat first.
However, India lost both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli quickly. Then, KL Rahul scored a quick-fire fifty. He got out on 55 runs off 35 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes. Suryakumar Yadav also scored 46 runs off 25 balls, including two fours and four sixes. But, Hardik Pandya came out with a blistering knock of 71* runs off 30 balls. He hit seven fours and five huge sixes. Pandya scored his fifty from 25 balls only. Meanwhile, in the last over, he smashed three consecutive sixes against Cameron Green. His inning helped India to post a huge total of 208 runs by losing six wickets in 20 overs. Fans go berserk after seeing this blistering knock from the star all-rounder of India.
