India is currently busy playing the Asia Cup 2022. However, India lost their first match of the ‘Super Four’ against Pakistan. Virat Kohli has been in a good form in this tournament so far by scoring two fifty-plus scores in three innings. But, he made headlines more when he attended an honest post-match press conference.

The video went viral. Kohli shared that nobody apart from MS Dhoni called him after he left the Test captaincy for India. But, now, former India great, Sunil Gavaskar slammed Kohli for sharing such a press during the tournament.

“Virat Kohli should name the player he is referring to.” – Sunil Gavaskar

Speaking of that press, Virat Kohli said: “I can tell you one thing. And that is when I left Test captaincy, I got a message from only one person with whom I had played earlier, and that was MS Dhoni. This is when many people had my number. A lot of people gave suggestions on TV, and they have a lot to say but all those who had my number, no one messaged me.”

Now, while speaking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar said that Kohli should reveal the names of those players. He said: “It’s very difficult to say as to whom Virat is referring to. If he would have taken any names, you can then go and ask that person, if you have contacted him or not. What I have heard is that he is talking about only MSD having called him after leaving Test captaincy.”

Gavaskar added: “If he is talking about former players, who have played with him, we know who all from that lot come on TV. He should name the player he is referring to. Ask them Kya Bhai aapne koi Message nahi Kiya (Bro, you didn’t message me?).” However, both India and Kohli will be in action again on 6 September 2022. India will take on Sri Lanka in Dubai in a must-win encounter. Followed by that, they will play Afghanistan on 8 September 2022.
