India’s Golden Boy, Neeraj Chopra made India proud when he won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2018 in the men’s javelin throw. After that, he managed to continue his red-hot form in all the global events he participated in so far. Even, in recent tournaments, he continued to challenge himself as he recorded his personal best.
On 14 June 2022, he won the silver medal with a new personal best of 89.30m at the Paavo Nurmi Games. Eventually, it was his first throw since the Tokyo Olympics. Then, a Throw of 86.69m at the Kuortane Games won him the Gold medal on 18 June 2022. After that, he managed to settle for the silver medal at the Stockholm Diamond League on 30 June 2022. But, that was his personal best with a Throw of 89.94m.
Now, on 21 July 2022, he managed to create another record by getting qualified for the finals of the Worlds Athletics Championships (WAC) with a Throw of 88.39m. As scheduled, on 23 July 2022, he participated in the finals of the Worlds Athletics Championships (WAC). With such a fantastic consistency behind his back, the whole of India was hoping to see him bagging another glory for the country.
However, Chopra did not disappoint his fans as he managed a throw of 88.13m in his fourth attempt in the men’s javelin throw final in Oregon. Eventually, it was enough as it ensured him the silver medal. Ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2022, it became another historical moment for Neeraj Chopra. With this massive win, he became the first Indian male and second Indian athlete to win a medal at the Worlds Athletics Championships (WAC). Even, this win completed the tally for Neeraj Chopra in his career as he has now won a medal at every global event for India.
