 Lionel Messi misses training ahead of FIFA World Cup 2022 final amid growing hamstring concerns: Reports

After beating Croatia in the first semifinal of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022, Argentina has qualified for the final. For the first time since 2014, they will play the title clash. Notably, the 2018 finalists had beaten Argentina in the semis of the 2018 tournament. Meanwhile, during the first semi, Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 34th minute of the game. Furthermore, Julian Alvarez ensured the team won fair and square.

During the game, the 35-year-old, Messi was seen holding his hamstring quite often. Also, there was a stage when he was sitting on the sidelines during the match. After the game, the PSG legend claimed that he was feeling ready for every game. However, he revealed that the team arrived in Qatar ‘tired’.

“I feel really good, I feel strong and ready to play each game.

“It’s not easy as we arrived tired but the group gained strength again and we played a strong game.

“I am enjoying this a lot. I feel very happy in this World Cup and I am able to help the squad.”

Meanwhile, ahead of the title clash, the Argentina skipper reportedly missed the training session. The team is slated to play for the trophy against the defending champions, France. Foot Mercato is reporting that Messi is experiencing discomfort in his hamstring. Although the news platform has reported that there is no chance that he can sit out of the FINAL. Not only Messi but some of the other 1st line-up players rested on Thursday. Papu Gomez is nursing a sprained ankle and remains a doubt for the final.

On the other hand, Messi was seen spending some time with his family ahead of the big game.
