 ‘Maine ek NAP kya lia 10 wickets ka GAP aagaya’ – Australia thrashes  India  by 10 wickets in second ODI

After a five-wicket loss in Mumbai in the first ODI, Australia made a great comeback in the three-match series by thrashing India by 10 wickets in the second ODI in Visakhapatnam. Powered by the five-wicket haul by Mitchell Starc, the visitors bowled India out for 117 runs in 26 overs.

India were asked to bat first after Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss. India got the first shock in the very first over as the in-form batter Shubman Gill went for the duck after playing two deliveries. After that, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli tried to propel the innings further, but Rohit also lost his wicket after the ball by Mitchell Starc found the edge of his bat, followed by the stunning catch by Smith at the slips.

Suryakumar Yadav was gone for the second consecutive golden duck after Starc bowled him leg before the wicket. KL Rahul, who played a match-winning in Mumbai couldn’t continue his form in Visakhapatnam as he was gone for nine runs. Hardik Pandya also went for one run followed by another stunner by Smith on Sean Abbott’s delivery.

Australia chased the winning total  in just 11 overs

Kohli was looking in good touch after scoring 31 runs off 35 balls, but he also lost his wicket to the young pacer Nathan Ellis in the 16th over. Kohli continued his trend of giving his wickets to the young bowler. Axar Patel tried to take the Indian innings further by hitting some spectacular shots. He remained unbeaten on 29 runs off 29 balls. For Australia, Starc took 5 wickets for 53 runs in 8 overs. While Abbott scalped 3 and Ellis scalped wickets.

Coming to chase the winning total, Australia didn’t find any hurdle as they scored 121 runs without any loss in just 11 overs. Travis Head remained unbeaten by scoring 51 runs off 30 balls hitting 10 boundaries. While Mithcell Marsh smashed 66 runs off 36 balls including six fours and six sixes. Australia have the series by 1-1 and the series decider will be played in Chennai on March 22nd.
