 ‘Maza agaya’ – Fans Go Berserk As India Defeat Australia By Six Wickets In The Second T20I In Nagpur

India kicked off the three-match T20I series against Australia with a loss in Mohali on 20 September 2022. So, the stage was set for the second match of the series in Nagpur. India were looking to equalize the series. While Australia were looking to seal the deal with one more match to go. Speaking of the match, it got delayed due to a wet outfield. 

After many inspections, finally, the umpires gave the green signal for starting the match. However, the match got reduced to eight overs per side. Rohit Sharma won the toss and he asked the Aussies to bat first. Meanwhile, India made two changes from their last playing XI. They dropped Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav. In place of them, they showed faith in Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah.

India defeated Australia by six wickets in the second T20I of the series in Nagpur

For Australia, skipper Aaron Finch and Cameron Green came out to open the inning. But, Green departed early after scoring five runs off four balls. But, Finch scored 31 runs off 15 balls, including four boundaries and one six. He smashed those runs at a strike rate of 206.66. Bumrah took the wicket of the Australian skipper with a vicious yorker. Matthew Wade continued his good form as he scored 43* runs off 20 balls. He hit four boundaries and three sixes. Thus, Australia scored 90 runs by losing five wickets in eight overs. Axar Patel was the star with the ball. He took two wickets in two overs by conceding 13 runs. 

In reply, skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to open the inning. In the first over only, India scored 20 runs including three sixes. However, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli scored 10 and 11 runs respectively. Even, Suryakumar Yadav departed for a golden duck. But, it was the Indian captain, who batted superbly throughout the innings. He remained not out on 46* runs off 20 balls. He hit four boundaries and four sixes. But, Dinesh Karthik only smashed two balls and hit 10 runs. Thus, India defeated Australia in the second T20I by six wickets with four balls to spare.
